Gay marriage around the world

Same sex marriage is allowed in countries such as Spain, Canada and South Africa, and in all of Scandinavia. Most of Europe recognizes same gender couples (partnership) but don’t officially support marriage between them. This also includes Brazil, Australia and Greenland.

In the US, only very few states have laws supporting same sex marriage, and a handful recognizes partnership. However, most of the US don’t legally recognize same sex couples at all.
